Apology for Incorrect Billing of Content Transfer Professional
Thank you for your continued support of Canon products.
We regret to inform you that some customers who downloaded the iOS app “Content Transfer Professional 1.0.20” from App Store were incorrectly charged the app purchase fee despite being within the “1-month free trial period” of the subscription (in-app purchase).
This issue was due to a pricing error, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to the affected customers.
Affected Customers:
Customers who downloaded the iOS version of Content Transfer Professional 1.0.20 from App Store by 01:00 (Eastern Daylight Time) on August 20, 2024.
Issue:
Instead of charging the subscription fee after the 1-month free trial period, the app purchase fee was incorrectly charged at the time of download, and customers were billed for it.
How to Check:
Customers who downloaded this app can check if they are affected by this issue through their purchase history. The steps are as follows:
1. Open App Store app.
2. Tap the user icon in the top right corner.
3. Tap “Purchase History” in the middle of the account screen.
4. Check if Content Transfer Professional is listed in the purchase history. If “App” is written under the app name Content Transfer Professional, you are affected by the incorrect billing. If “Subscription” is written, you are not affected.
Refund Process:
We will refund the incorrectly charged app fee to the designated account of the affected customers. Please tap Content Transfer Professional in your purchase history, open the “Order Details” screen, take a screenshot of this screen (ensuring the purchase date and order number are visible), and send it to ctp-refund@mail.canon. We will process the refund after verification.
We will improve our system checks and operational methods to prevent recurrence. We apologize once again for the inconvenience caused.
